Dandelion VoidA field guide to the public demo

Getting started

How to get the public demo: the separate app behind the 2027 listing

Windows public Demo · App 5248460 · sources checked October 12, 2026

The short answer

The public demo is available now through the Dandelion Void Steam page. Its Download section installs Dandelion Void Demo, App 5248460. The 2027 planned-release label belongs to the parent game, App 3582810, and does not mean you must wait to try this demo.

This is a separate game from the people behind the Save Our Station mod. A Project Zomboid installation is not the demo you are looking for. The current demo is listed as free and Windows-supported.

Choose the demo download, not the wishlist

  1. Open the official Dandelion Void Steam store page.
  2. Find the section titled Download Dandelion Void Demo. At our October 12 check, its Download action points to Steam installation App 5248460.
  3. Use that normal Steam demo action and follow the client prompt. Adding the parent game to your wishlist is a different action; it does not itself install the demo.
  4. Check the title in your Steam library before launching: Dandelion Void Demo. If you are still looking at a page saying the game is not yet available, return to the separate demo section.

We link the official store rather than hosting a game executable. Our check read the download control; it did not install the game or modify a Steam library.

Windows support and the limits of the specs

SteamDB currently lists the demo's supported system as Windows. The parent store displays Windows 11, 8 GB RAM and 10 GB available space among its minimum requirements, while explicitly saying its specifications are tentative during development.

Those parent requirements are a planning reference, not a performance test of the demo on your PC. We have not verified a native Mac or Linux demo, a compatibility-layer workaround, controller behavior or a frame-rate guarantee. Read the current store requirements before committing installation space.

Once you are in the demo

For an initial retreat, use the water, vents and resting-room checks. If the ship's corridors are hard to follow, start with a short route you can retrace rather than searching for a promised universal loot room.

The demo multiplayer guide separates this solo trial from the parent game's online tags and future plans. Before ending a long run, read the conflicting save and reload reports.

If the demo section changes or disappears, check the store and official news again. No permanent availability promise or confirmed closing date was present in the sources we checked.
